George W. Grunau

Managing Partner & Co-Founder

Exxon-trained geoscientist with 30+ years of experience in domestic oil and gas exploration and resource development; 15 years in PE-Backed resource play development; Oil-Finder with discoveries spanning US onshore and offshore basins. A founder of Travis Peak Resources as SVP-Exploration. Authored Tier-1 Utica discoveries in Appalachia and Anadarko Basin; Assembled >90k Acres and drilled 23 HZ extended DSU’s. Merged with a sister company in Q1 2019. In addition to the upstream asset base, Travis Peak Resources participated in two significant Midstream JV’s with Cardinal Midstream. A founder of United Resources II & III as VP-Exploration. Authored multiple discoveries in Eagle Ford, Midland Basin, Marcellus, South Texas Conventional. Manages the day-to-day operation of the team.

George is a Texas Certified Professional Geoscientist, AAPG Certified Petroleum Geophysicist and AAPG Certified Petroleum Geologist. He earned his BS and MSc degrees in Geosciences with highest honors from Louisiana Tech University and University of Louisiana at Monroe.

Lloyd R. “Rick” Allen

Partner & Co-Founder

30+ years’ experience in domestic and global petroleum operations: drilling, completion, and production. Recent drilling, completion, reserve analysis in Midland Basin and CBP; worldwide experience including basins in Texas, Mid-Con and Appalachia, plus Africa, Far East & Middle East. Accomplished engineer in directional, horizontal, underbalance and HPHT drilling applications, completion / hydraulic fracturing, workover, and production operations. Extensive experience evaluating project economics, reserve forecasting, and P&L analyses; Qualified reservoir / evaluation engineer.

Rick is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. He earned his BS in Petroleum Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.

Michael “Mike” T. Lewis

Partner & Co-Founder

30+ years’ experience in domestic upstream accounting in public and private environments. Most recently served as Controller for Travis Peak Resources from its’ inception until the merger and transition of assets into Paloma Resources. A founder of both United Resources II & III as VP & Chief Financial Officer and EDF Trading Resources as VP – Finance. Previous experience with Newfield Exploration, Falcon Seaboard Resources, and Greenhill Petroleum Corporation. Extensive upstream accounting experience and well versed in US GAAP, financial and managerial reporting, debt compliance, financial audit and tax reporting compliance, accounting operations and controls, budgeting and forecasting, acquisitions and divestitures, treasury, and managing staff and outsourced solutions.

Mike is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas. He earned his BBA in Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin.
